Well, hello there! I’m Gretchen. I’m a 24-year-old, high school librarian going into my 2nd year as an educator. I completed my first master’s degree (in library and information science) in May 2014 and I have just recently begun my 2nd master’s degree (in English). I absolutely love learning and see myself being a student forever.
As a librarian, I have a rather deep love for books and reading. I find that just having a book nearby puts me at ease, even if I’m not reading it at that moment; one of my favorite activities is going to a bookstore and leaving with an armful of new books. Besides reading, I also love crafting, even though I’m the greatest at it. You know those amazing pictures of crafts you see on Pinterest? Yeah, those will never be mine, but I still strive to create something (even if it doesn’t turn out all that great). I could spend hours in places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or A.C. Moore.
Living in the country is wonderful. Sometimes I wish I lived closer to a city, but then I just remember how beautiful it is where I live. Plus, I’m not sure I’d be able to have my 15 cats anywhere but on a farm, and as a librarian, I love my cats.
